Pummel
1993 - 1999
Detroit Original (and Crispy) Alternative Rock Band
..."of deep forest green and flowers in bloom, I ponder my thoughts in this tiny bedroom." Michael Scott & Pummel, LeRoy Fusk 1997
Michael D. Scott was the guitarist and co-founder of the 90's Alternative Rock Band, Pummel, as well as co-founder of the SuperSonic Music Co. label. In conjunction with Curtis LeRoy Foreman (lead vocal, guitars), Michael Fisk (bass, backing vocals), David "Guten" Morgan (drums, backing vocals), and John Vitale (engineer, co-producer), the band collectively recorded and co-produced Pummel's first and only CD, Sonic Pincushion, in 1997 at Premier Studios in Farmington Hills, MI. Although Pummel disbanded in 1999, their six year legacy still resonates in the Detroit music scene.
Pummel developed their very own power-pop, guitar driven, distinct sound out of the many influences from within the band. Truly one of the "tightest" and "loudest" live bands you would encounter during the 90's Detroit Alternative Rock Scene.
Curtis, Mike, David, and Michael have continued with their separate musical endeavors, and there is always hope for a Pummel reunion tour. It would truly be an enormous highlight should it ever come to fruition. For music is in the ear of the beholder...and what would life be without music?
I hope you enjoy some of the tunes here from Pummel's 1997 release, Sonic Pincushion, as well as Michael's recent music endeavor, Inter-Planet Janet, with Billy Mack from Billy Mack and the Juke Joint Johnny's.
